University of Melbourne Extension Program - French
What is the University of Melbourne Extension Program?
If you are an academically gifted student the University of Melbourne Extension Program can provide you with the challenge of undertaking a tertiary-level subject as part of your Year 12 Program and of having that subject contribute towards your final ENTER.Up to now you may have considered extending yourself by accelerating your studies or undertaking a larger than usual number of Year 12 options. The University of Melbourne Extension Program gives you another option, that of studying a particular subject at greater depth and of having your studies counted towards both your ENTER and your future University course. The University of Melbourne Extension Program subjects are equivalent in every respect to current first-year subjects at the University of Melbourne, and successfully completing one would normally allow you to proceed to second-year study in that discipline area. They also form part of the Board of Studies Extension Studies program, in which a number of tertiary institutions are involved.
If you choose to become a University of Melbourne Extension Program student you will join hundreds of other high-achieving students who are part of this stimulating and challenging program.
What are the benefits of taking part in the Univeristy of Melbourne Extension Program?
Whether you are an Australian or International Student:
- you are given the opportunity to extend your study of a subject you excel in and to do so in a supportive and stimulating environment;
- you gain experience studying at University level;
- your study can contribute toward the ENTER in lieu of a sixth VCE study (or for IB students by an appropriate increment being added to your notional ENTER);
- credit is given for the subject
once you gain a place at the University, if the subject is an accepted part
of your course; if you wish, you can take exemption
instead of credit, which gives extra time to take further studies.
